Russia along with Kazakhstan and Belarus banned from Rio Olympics

Countries like Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus has been banned from participating in Rio Olympics by the weightlifting governing body.

These countries are banned because of repeated doping offences. The executive of International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) decided in a meeting that countries with three or more failed tests among the suspicious cases would be banned for a year.

Injection used for doping

Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus were names by the executive as the counties facing suspension. Bulgaria has been already banned by the IWF from the Olympics for doping.

Additional sanctions has been given to countries like North Korea, Romania, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Azerbaijan by the IWF because of repeated doping cases during the qualification period of Olympics.

The number of weightlifters they send to Rio will get affected because of this.
