Christian Dior showcased resort wear for 2017 at a glittering preview for selected audience recently in London. The collection was designed my Lucie Meier and Serge Ruffieux, The duo emphasized more on the younger generation’s desire to be daring and stickled to old tripartite silhouettes. The collection included skirts over pants, vests over shirts, and dresses over knits—al pointing to the breeze and coolness in the air, Also displayed scarf’s in different style from thin printed numbers to flowing version which can be wrapped around your wrists. They married shapes and detailing from old Dior’s archives but with a new spirit.

The resort collection “Cruise” designed Lucie Meier ns Serge Ruffieux was inspired by not only the post-war high society wardrobes but also the restlessness and wanderlust character of that particular period. The importance was for floral as well as African prints. The duo informed the media “We showed tops, dresses, and skirts adorned in floral as well as Asian and African prints and embroidery. We have layered several outfits as such skirts, trousers and jackets. Also we have shown Dior’s signature Bar jackets with innovation. We have been gold to stick to the Dior’s tradition while designing clothes, which we did with perfection,”

The “Cruise” collection also includes accessories such as sun glasses and belts, bags and shoes, which is the trade mark of the internationally acclaimed brand. Interestingly suits sets were cut into silhouettes ghat were difficult to imagine anyone wearing. They kept the fits looser than previously with accessories less “Lady Dior” than last year collection. The accessories have a youthful, rustic look keeping in mind the modern youth of today.

With this high profile show Dior declared Bela Hadid young and petite model as the new makeup face. “I was thrilled when heard the news of making me as the new face of Dior’s. I consider it as God gifted. With this new coronation my responsibility also increases,” said Bella.
