No jeans for Haryana school teachers

The BJP government in Haryana has added one more rule to be followed by the schools of Haryana and this time it’s not for the students but teachers which were issued on Thursday.

This time they have barred school teachers from wearing jeans. The last rule was to introduce Hindu Holy Book- Gita in the syllabus of the school.

According to the government teachers should be the “role models” of the students and wearing jeans in school is considered to be improper attire especially in the rural area.

Teacher in a sari

State additional chief secretary(school education) PK Das says that states like Odisha have a dress code for teaches which included black pants and sky black shirts for male and pink saris and black blouses for the female teachers.

However, the teachers’ bodies are not happy with this decision as there are many teachers below the age of 40 who prefer wearing jeans over pants.
