Rahasya: Dirty Secrets Of An Ordinary Family


Crime can happen anywhere and everywhere and you could be its victim, but what if you lose someone near and dear or become victim of someone you know from your own family? Suspecting your family can be very tough but then we all know that sometimes what seems real to you could be a veil of innocence under which lies the darker side. Rahasya, a movie whose story is centred on an urban doctor couple living in Mumbai, pokes and awakens this mysterious issue.

Rahasya is a crime-thriller movie in which an 18 year old teenager, Ayesha Mahajan, who is the only child of the urban doctor couple, is found murdered inside their large duplex apartment. The initial investigation points at the girl’s father as the prime accused for the murder but as the story moves further and the case is taken over by the central bureau of investigation, evidence reveals ulterior motives of near and dear ones in Ayesha’s life who could have committed this heinous crime.


Talking about the film, Ajit Andhare, COO- Viacom 18 Motion Pictures said, “VMP is committed to bringing out scripts that make for engaging narratives. We have made unconventional thrillers into major commercial successes with films like Kahaani and Madras Café and we are looking to accomplish the same through Rahasya that brings together a terrific set of actors in an intriguing plot.”



The moment you watch the trailer you can guess that it is based on the ‘Arushi-Hemraj’ double-murder mystery case but what is exciting to watch is how it ends and how the story builds up. Talking about the movie, the director Manish Gupta said, “I love suspense as a genre and all my prior work has also had some element of intrigue. Rahasya is a nail-biting thriller of an eccentric officer on the hunt for a killer. We believe the movie will have audiences on the edge of their seats”


The movie has an eminent star-cast aka performers comprising of- Tisca Chopra (playing the mother of the victim), Kay Kay Menon (as Detective/investigator), Ashish Vidyarthi (playing the father of the victim) and few others in pivotal roles. Presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and UVI Film Production Pvt Ltd and produced by Monica Vimal Maluka,Rahasya is all set to hit the theatres on January 30th 2015.
