According to a fertility expert, “There are a lot of heavy metals in the air, which directly affect the hormones in the body. In India, 15 percent of the male population is infertile, a rate greater than that of the female.

The expert also added PM carries with it polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, lead cadmium and mercury and it could further affect the hormonal balance, which can be toxic to sperm.

Notably, reduction in hormones of testosterone or oestrogen level can lead to a low desire of sexual intercourse and this further hinders the sex life. The only thing can be done is you can use multi- layer masks to protect yourself.
