Father of Modern Chemistry

Antoine van Lavoisier, widely regarded as father of modern chemistry was born on the 26th of August.

Most noted for his discovery of Oxygen and Hydrogen in the air, he also predicted the existence of Silicon and proved that Sulfur was an element and not a molecule.
