Electric car launched by an Indian car maker:- This year the Indian automaker Mahindra has been assertive with its electric vehicle folio. First it launced ‘e-Verito’ then ‘e-Supro van’ and now we will get to see an ‘e2o Plus’, a 4-door alternative of the smaller version of the 2-door ‘e2o hatchback’.

The Mahindra e2o Plus will be available in the market in three different variants with prices varying from Rs 5.46 lakh – Rs. 8.46 lakh (Delhi), Mahindra claims that the cabin space of e2o Plus has increased by over 150 litres and has stated that the car is very spacious.

Customers will also relish the special incentives offered by the Government of India under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric) project.

Currently, Mahindra will be focusing only on the domestic market and has no plans of exporting the new e2o plus to any other international market.

The car also gets an SOS feature called revive which is being carried over from the e2o variant, gives you an additional range of 7-10 km if your battery power drops below 10 per cent.

This can be activated just by touching a button or by using the e2o Plus app on your smart phone. The mobile app also hosts other features like switching the car’s air conditioner on/off and even locking or unlocking the car.

While about all variants get the same electric motor, which gives a range of 110km that we have seen on the e2o, the top P8 variant of e2o Plus gets a new 3 phase induction motor which is more powerful with a peak power of 40bhp and rotating force of 91Nm.

It also has a more reliable 210ah lithium-ion battery that increases the driving range to 140km and the top-speed of 85Km/h. The battery of e2o Plus takes about 9 hours to get fully charged , identical to charging time of the smaller e2o. The automatic gearbox has also left unchanged from the 2-door variant, however has a new sport mode.
