The telecom company Bharti Airtel today gave a surprise to its female employees by increasing the maternity leave to 22 weeks from 12 weeks. This is an addition to flexible work options for working mothers, who want to ensure a smooth transition to full working hours.
According to a report, the company’s office in Gurgaon will also provide modern- day care facilities for the children.
The company said that the main objective behind their policy is to help its female employees to balance their role as parents with professional commitments at work.
The revised policy will let the women employees to resume their work after 22 weeks.
