A 1111 carat diamond found in Botswana mine

The largest ever diamond found in Botswana is the 1,111 carat clear white found by Lucara of Canada in the nation’s Karowe mine.

This is the second largest gem quality diamond found in over a century, and measures 56 by 40 by 65 mm, giving it a weight of 222 gms (5 carats to a gram).

This signifies, that the mining company is in for more good news, as it probably has tapped into the motherlode, or rock formation which has a significant quantity of diamonds.

Lucara is already inundated with buyers, but wants to take it’s time, working on profit maximization, before it decides to sell this wonder of a gem.
