Renowned art director Nitin Desai was tragically found dead at his ND Studio in Karjat, Maharashtra’s Raigad district. A team of four doctors conducted the postmortem and preliminarily concluded that the cause of death was hanging, according to Raigad Police. Desai’s body was taken to JJ Hospital by Khalapur Police for postmortem.

Investigation Ongoing:

Reports indicate that the celebrated artist was facing financial strain, and Maharashtra MLA Mahesh Baldi suggested this might have driven him to take his life. The investigation is ongoing, with devices and electronic items found at the scene being seized for further examination. Desai’s family confirmed that his last rites would be performed at ND Studios.

Nitin Desai’s Legacy:

Nitin Desai was well-known for his creative studio designs and had partnered with esteemed filmmakers such as Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. His remarkable portfolio encompassed movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.His outstanding contributions to art direction earned him three Filmfare Awards and four National Film Awards in the Best Art Direction category.
