This holy water is later offered at their local Shiva temples. This spiritual journey, related to Hindu Mythology is called Knawar Yatra.

Kanwar Yatra, is carried out with great pomp and show in India every year. One can have glimpse of Lord Shiva’s devotees in orange clothes carrying kanwar on their shoulders. The environment nearby them is very cheerful and sweet Bhajan’s are heard all around.

This year also Kanwar Yatra began with great enthusiasm. A lot of excitement was visble on the face of devotees. However, on Wednesday morning when finally, the Ganga jal was offered, the Yatra came to an end.

The yatra was carried for 3 days, though there was high alert in states like Uttar Pradesh. However, the police was very alert and things happened peacfully. Yet, a common problem that most of the people had faced was the severe Traffic jam during Kanwar Yatra. However, with the end of Knawar Yatra things are back to normal now.
