Vanga Film Buzz: Allu Arjun Also Out After Deepika Padukone?
The latest grapevine is that there is bound to be a massive upheaval in the forthcoming films of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as star actress Deepika Padukone is no longer attached to the projects of the director, and now there is a possibility that Allu Arjun too will not be a part of it.
Allu Arjun Exits Sandeep Vanga’s Film After Deepika Padukone?
The latest grapevine is that there is bound to be a massive upheaval in the forthcoming films of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as star actress Deepika Padukone is no longer attached to the projects of the director, and now there is a possibility that Allu Arjun too will not be a part of it. The move has caused a lot of debate and rumour in the movie industry and among enthusiasts.
A few days back Deepika Padukone’s alleged departure out of Vanga film, Spirit, with Prabhas in the lead was a top discussion provoking matter. Though both sides did not make any official announcement, the media reported that her parting was due to a terms tussle, or rather her remuneration (reportedly Rs 25 crore, 35 days of shoot) and insistence on an 8-hour working day, besides 10 per cent of the profits of the film. As a new mother, Deepika supposedly was interested in a more balanced schedule. The situation was seemingly addressed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga himself in a cryptic message on social media, where without mentions of Padukone specifically, he spoke about a betrayal of trust and indicated dirty PR games. Triptii Dimri has now been confirmed as the female lead in Spirit.
To this ongoing drama, the latest now is that Telugu superstar Allu Arjun too has been “dropped” by a project with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Last year, Allu Arjun had apparently signed a film with the Animal director, a combination that had elicited enormous expectations. But sources say this project has now been kept in wait and Allu Arjun is no longer connected with this project. Though neither Allu Arjun nor Sandeep Reddy Vanga have officially confirmed or denied these rumors, there are rumors that Jr. NTR is being discussed as a possible replacement of Allu Arjun in this role.
Recent developments have provoked an avalanche of responses from fans and industry observers alike. Many have now compared Deepika’s exit regarding “Spirit” to the exit of Allu Arjun from “Spirit”. Many speculate that this is an indication of creative and/or contractual disagreements with a demanding director in Vanga, who is known for his strong choices and high demands.
Interestingly, despite the fact that Deepika Padukone and Allu Arjun left their own separate film directions, they will both be onscreen for the first time in a pan-India film directed by Atlee, tentatively titled AA22xA6. We only found out that Deepika Padukone was joining this film shortly after the news broke that she exited ‘Spirit,’ so many fans saw that as a sort of “power move” to somewhat covertly address Vanga’s recent remarks. It feels like an epic project, with reports suggesting that Allu Arjun will have his first dual role in cinema and Deepika Padukone will be portraying a powerful personality.
The ‘AA22xA6’ projected production schedule is reportedly mid-2025 and to be released in 2026.
The reality of constant casting turnover, and the subtext of creative differences or demanding terms, point to the fluidity and complexity of the industry and the nature of filming when big personalities and big ambitions enter the mix. The coming months, it is expected, will generate more definitive information.
