YEH KAALI KAALI ANKHEIN
The streaming giant Netflix kickstarted 2022 with its Hindi Original, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein in which Sidharth Sengupta paints a dark world centered around a hapless man and two women who are in love with him. The eight-episode-long season is surprisingly plot-driven and justifiably interesting in a twisted humor quotient that will keep you going. But also there is another reason and that is Anchal Singh who was overwhelmed with fans’ love for her role of Purva in the series.
ARANYAK
The show is a potpourri of mystery, drama and mythology with a strong political undertone binding them together which starts off with the rape and murder of a foreign tourist. It may feel like there are too many sub-plots but the strings are skillfully tied together. Bollywood star Raveena Tandon plays a cop who is struggling to manage her work and her roles at home.
MONEY HEIST
An absolutely amazing spanish drama which is captivating, intense, emotional, and much more with a brilliant script by Álex Pina (the creator) that involves all your senses and it’s highly unpredictable. Each part of the series is written very carefully with a lot of intelligent details from the human and criminal side. The series offers a lot of suspense, high emotions and another dimension to understand the criminals who sometimes want justice for their desperate situation.
SQUID GAME
The show is one of Netflix’s most-watched series ever which has dominated charts all over the world. Squid Game is created by Hwang Dong-hyuk and portrays a competition with some 456 entrants, who have to survive a brutal challenge of fatal events which later turns brutal. In this Korean series, people put their lives on the line to play children’s games.
DECOUPLED
The show starring Surveen Chawla and R Madhavan isn’t so much fun about a wealthy couple who are on the verge of getting a divorce but stay together for the sake of their adolescent daughter. The series may confuse you into thinking it’s a modern, realistic take on marriage and separation and only serves to show us the perspective of Arya Iyer (R Madhavan) who suffers from some sort of a narcissistic victim-complex.
TOO HOT TO HANDLE
Sexy soirées, mandated soul-searching, and vagina worship – the season three of Netflix’s hit dating show straddles sexuality and spirituality however the effect is neither sexy nor enlightening even if stripped it down to its bare parts, viewers find Too Hot to Handle which is known to be the horniest show on TV still fails to be sexy.
EMILY IN PARIS
“Emily in Paris” has a way of driving viewers crazy which is obvious as the Netflix series’ first season was nominated for best comedy at the Golden Globes and at the Emmys. The show has been created by Darren Star who also created Sex and the City, perhaps which is why many of Emily’s misadventures in the ‘city of love’ take us to an alternate timeline where Carrie would have moved to Paris, and things wouldn’t have worked out for her
