Salman Khan Shares Heartfelt Memory From Maine Pyar Kiya Shoot: ‘Tears In My Eyes…’
Salman Khan initially started his acting career in the movie Biwi Ho Toh Aisi in 1988 in a cameo role but he was inaugurated as the star in Sooraj Barjatya’s 1989 film Maine Pyar Kiya. After guests asked, in an interview, about the film that he likes most, instantly, Salman answered Maine Pyar Kiya. He also regaled them with an incidence that occurred during the filming process.
During a conversation with Hello! When Salman came into Indo-Arabia he recollect these memories whilst shooting for the song “Kabootar Ja Ja” to which he said they were tears in his eyes consciously said “I was 18 years old and there was a memorable moment ever during the shoot for the song ‘Kabootar Ja Ja Ja’ and I knew this was it.

Sometimes in several narrations, I use to imagine Jackie Shroff or Anil Kapoor in those roles, but I don’t see myself into big films. I can remember having a moment to call my own and telling myself, ‘I can do this’. In this engaged, I had tears in my eyes. ”
The lead cast of the movie Maine Pyar Kiya was finalized after many auditions of aspiring actors by the Rajshris for Salman. Bhagyashree was the debut heroine of this super hit film and it also starred upcoming debut hero. Salman on the other hand remained a movie icon and featured in many successful films of the nineties, but Bhagyashree who was also highly loved only acted in few films in the coming years and decided to quit acting full time to start a family.
Even after Maine Pyar Kiya’s popularity, Salman’s next big blockbuster had to wait a few years. Salman discussed that time in his life at the IIFA Awards 2022, saying, “Bhagyashree decided she didn’t want to work anymore because she wanted to get married after Maine Pyar Kiya was released.” She has taken all the credit, thus aur wo pura credit leke chali gayi. I did not own a movie for six months- he stated.
