Runway 34 review: Fasten Your Seatbelt to Feel Turbulence of Thrill!

Runway 34 review: With no-nonsense Bollywood drama, Ajay Devgan nailed his directorial skill in Runway 34!

Runway 34 review: If you are bored with typical Bollywood drama, with 7 songs and a cliched storyline, then Runway 34 can come as a fresh air of breath for you. Directed by Ajay Devgan, who is also playing the lead character in the film Capt. Vikrant Khanna. The film was blessed by an ensemble cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet, and Boman Irani.

The film is an aviation drama inspired by the Doha to Kochi flight incident that had a close shave in August 2015.

As captain (Vikrant Khanna) of the passenger plane Skyline, Ajay Devgan is shown as a well-skilled and brilliant pilot but a party animal. Rakul Preet is sharing her screen space as co-pilot (Tanya Alburqurquee) with Khanna, stuck in an emergency situation and landed on the verge of death(literally).

The second half introduces Amitabh Bachchan as an inquiry officer Narayan Vedant who was determined to prove that the accident can be avoided if the Capt. Khanna would have made rational decisions.

The movie gives a close view of the pilot’s situation and their ability to make quick decisions when they are entrusted with the lives of many. There is a dialogue in the film, ‘Kuch Samay ke Liye pilot us Bhagwan ki Tarah ho Jata Hai jispr plane may sawar log aakh month kar bharosa Kar Lete Hai.‘ But not to forget that they are also humans and sometimes face extreme situations and still maintain their calm.

Boban Irani was the owner of Skyline Airline, and Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh were also in a pivotal role. Not to forget that Carry Minati, who played himself, is on board as one of the passengers.

The film will actually take you along on the Doha to Kochi flight incident, and it is okay if you may fasten your seat belts due to turbulence of thrill. The film has 1-2 songs which you may not remember as soon as you step out of the theater.

The characters are not shown as larger than life but definitely give a message that you should do your duty with complete integrity.

However, whenever plane accidents happen, the whole system is eager to blame pilots, shrugging off their accountability. Flying a plane is a collective effort of pilots, cabin crew, air traffic controllers, system, and even passengers.

Suppose any of them fails to fulfill their duty. In that case, it could lead to a catastrophic disaster leaving many dead.

Coming back to the film, it is a must-watch story without any larger-than-life characters and a no-nonsense Bollywood story. How the title of the film Runway 34 is justified, that you will know once you hit the treaters.
