When viewers get bored with the saas-bahu of daily soaps, reality shows bring joy to a large number of audiences who like to watch the realistic drama. Reality shows are said to be based on real occurrences with no scripted story. Although Indian audience is fond of TV Soaps when it comes to reality shows, the enthusiasm for show doubles.

1. The Kapil Sharma Show

The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most popular comedy shows amongst the Indian audience. The hilarious stand-up comedy show brings celebrity guests in every episode which airs on every Saturday and Sunday on Sony TV. The show has an ensemble cast of Sumona Chakravarti, Chandan Prabhakar, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek.

2. Bigg Boss

The saying “Love it or hate it but you just can’t ignore it” suits perfectly for the Bigg Boss. Since Salman Khan took the reign of Big Boss, it has achieved many glories. Every year when the show arrives, it reaches the list of top achievers in terms of TRP. In the show, contestants are isolated from the outside world and live in a house together. They are judged winner on the numbers of votes they get from the viewers.

3. KBC

Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) is an Indian Quiz Show based on the British Show “Who wants to be a millionaire”? Amitabh Bachchan hosts the popular show. The first season was aired in 2001, which also marked the debut of Senior Bachchan on the small screen.  The grand prize of 7 crores is given to the winner who answers all the 16 questions correctly.

4. Satyamev Jayate

We are judging the television series only on the TRP numbers they brought, we are also judging them on how much impact they had in the society. Hosted by Aamir Khan Satyamev Jayate, the show focuses on sensitive issues like child sexual abuse, honour killings, rape, female foeticide, untouchability, alcoholism, domestic violence and many others.

5. TED Talks India Nayi Soch

You wouldn’t have expected this show on the list because neither it gained a lot of TRPs nor it has many seasons. TED Talks India Nayi Soch season 1 and season 2 was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. This has made into the list because of the message it delivered, the number of people it inspired, women achievers it celebrated and more. We need more TV shows like number 4 and 5 to help India become a better country.
