There are many instances where we have seen very well-known stars suddenly quit a hit-running show in the middle of the story. Their reasons could be either professional or personal. In some cases, we have seen, where popular actors threaten or rumoured to quit the show and we expect a plastic surgery or sudden demise of the character but from the very next day we see a Punar Janam as they turned out to be fickle-minded.

Here is the list of popular TV stars who threatened or rumoured to quit the show but changed their minds later.

Kapil Sharma

Comedy king Kapil Sharma was rumoured to quit the show, The Kapil Sharma Show. But suddenly clinched the contract with the channel and decided to stay back.

Meanwhile, the show is off the air now, but there is an expectation that the show will re-launch and the shoot will start soon.

Karan Mehra

Karan Mehra, who gained fame with his show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has threatened the makers to quit the show several times. But he has always declined the rumours related to it. He was seen playing ‘Naitik’ for 8 long years until in 2016 when he finally quit the show due to some health issues.

Mehra was also in news a few months ago for his troubled marriage with wife Nisha Rawal.

Munmun Dutta

Munmun Dutta popularly known as ‘Babita Ji’ has been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for 13 years now. It was rumoured that she might quit the show after the controversy sparks over alleged castist remarks. But in an interview with ETimes, she denied all the speculations and said that she will remain a part of TMKOC.

Sunil Grover

Sunil Grover who is now playing prominent roles in numerous web series and films still resides in telly audience hearts as Gutthi from the Colours TV show, Comedy Nights with Kapil.

But suddenly Sunil launched his show with the same concept on Star Plus as Mad In India which failed to bring the same magic. Hence, Sunil decided to reunite with Kapil and accompanied him to The Kapil Sharma Show.

Unfortunately, this bond didn’t last long and the duo separated after a heated argument.

Kavita Kaushik

Kavita Kaushik played Chandramukhi Chautala in FIR for the longest time. Her honest cop avatar with a Haryanvi accent is still bliss for many. But after completing 800 episodes, she took up another show Tota Weds Maina on the same channel which failed to do any wonders for her career.

On public demand, Kavita agreed to make a comeback to the sitcom.

Rashmi Desai

Rashmi Desai as Tapasya made her a popular household name. But the actress decided to leave the show as she didn’t want to age in the popular daily Uttaran and hadn’t wanted to be on the hate-list of the audience as she was playing the main Vamp.

Concerning the character’s popularity, makers decided to show Tapasya as an older woman but in a positive role this time.

Smriti Irani 

The actor now turned politician was seen as a perfect ‘Sanskari Indian Bahu’ by every house in India. But due to her rumoured differences with producer Ekta Kapoor, she had decided to walk out from popular daily and was also replaced by Gautami Kapoor leaving her fans heartbroken.

This sudden replacement was unbearable by for the viewers and The Balaji Productions were forced to bring back Smriti as Tulsi again.
