Shershaah

Shershaah is our first recommendation to binge-watch. This film is adapted from the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee and brave army captain Vikram Batra. Siddharth Malhotra is the main lead, and Kaira Advani plays the role of the late soldier’s fiancée Dimple Cheema.

Chak De India

This movie is inspired by the 2002 commonwealth games, where the Indian team witnessed the iconic victory. This movie also displays the struggle of a former hockey player who was tainted as a traitor.

Border

Not talking about Border on August 15 isn’t possible. This film, directed by J.P Dutta, glorifies the Battle of Longewala in 1971. This film has beautifully projected the emotions of a soldier and their love for their country.

It has a long list of ensemble casts, including Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Raakhee, and many others. This film can surely ignite the feeling of patriotism in you. You can watch this movie on Netflix.

Swades: We the People

This film gained a lot of appreciation post-release. The film is a cult classic and was considered ahead of its time. With a great storyline, it also has some iconic songs composed by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. This movie is undoubtedly on the list of Shahrukh Khan’s best works. You can watch Swades on Amazon prime as well as on Netflix.

Krantiveer

This is the same film in which Nana Patekar delivered the most iconic monologue – ‘Aa Gaye meri maut ka tamasha dekhne’. This scene targets the entire nation’s mentality towards an individual. It is a 1994 Hindi action-thriller film that won four Filmfare awards and a national award.

Mother India

Mother India is a remake of Mehboob Khan’s film Aurat. This 1957 released epic drama shows the atrocities of moneylenders on a poor widow. She struggled daily to raise her kids and keep her moral values alive.

This movie was among the most expensive Hindi cinema productions. However, the efforts were well paid, as this movie did very well at the box office. And earned the highest revenue at that time. Mother India was nominated for Best Foreign Language film at the 30th Academy Awards.

Roja

Roja was released back in 1992. It is a romantic thriller film in Tamil cinema. This film receives immense appreciation for its storyline based on patriotism. Despite being in regional language, it won 3 national awards, including Best Film on National Integration. Roja is available on ZEE5 and Amazon Prime.
