With Kartik Aryan walking away from Dostana 2, look at some other stars who did the same.
1. Kareena Kapoor in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
Before Ameesha Patel, Kareena Kapoor was set to debut along with Hrithik Roshan. She even shot some parts of the movie but eventually walked out. The exact reasons for her exit remain a mystery but Ameesha Patel did not disappoint the audience as Kaho Na Pyaar Hai went on to be a successful movie at the box office. Kareena later made her debut with Abhishek Bachchan in Refugee.

Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor were supposed to be the leads of the movie based on the Chetan Bhagat novel of the same name. But Arjun Kapoor was roped in for the role as Sushant’s dates for his movie Raabta clashed with Half Girlfriend. So the actor chose to stick with the role he first signed and walked out of Half Girlfriend. Even though Arjun Kapoor was the second choice, he did great and the role suited him.
3. Alia Bhatt in Raabta

Alia Bhatt was the first choice for Raabta and was to star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. But even after signing the movie, she had to leave as her dates were clashing with the Karan Johar movie Shuddhi. But unfortunately, Shuddhi later got cancelled and Alia could not do either of the movies. Kriti Sanon was later cast in Raabta and did a phenomenal job.
4. Aishwarya Rai in Chalte Chalte
Aishwarya Rai was the first choice for Chalte Chalte and had even started shooting. But she had to leave the movie when her then-boyfriend Salman Khan reportedly ended up coming to the sets of Chalte Chalte and vandalized the property badly. Aish had to leave the project to allow the shooting of the film smoothly. Soon Rani Mukherjee was cast to replace Aish, Sharukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee ended up giving us one of the best romantic dramas of the period.
5. Shraddha Kapoor in Saina
Shraddha Kapoor was all set to play Saina Nehwal but was later replaced by Parineeti Chopra who did an awesome job in the movie and impressed the audience as well as the critics. Shraddha had started training for the movie and everything was going well but she was diagnosed with jaundice. The film’s shooting was halted and Shraddha couldn’t act for a long time as the movie required intense physical activity. So Parineeti was cast in the film.
6. Kartik Aryan in Dostana 2
The latest on the list is Kartik Aryan. Only a few days ago it was announced that Kartik Aryan will be not be starring in the Dharma Production movie Dostana 2. Karan Johar’s Dharma Production released a statement that said, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”.
