Mic Dropped! Javed Akhtar Shamed Pakistan for Sheltering Terrorists

Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar shamed Pakistan in their Own Country!

Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar shamed Pakistan at the seventh edition of the Faiz Festival as India’s head delegate in Lahore. During his session at the festival, the Indian poet recalled the 26/11 incident in Mumbai and said, “The perpetrators behind it are still roaming free in Pakistan, and this thing hurts Indians till today”.

Interestingly the Lahore audience clapped at Javed Akhtar’s comments. He has often been trolled in India over his remarks but now has roughed up Pakistan over terrorism on their own land.

“26/11 Attackers were not from Norway or Egypt. They are still roaming free in your country”

Speaking about strains in India-Pakistan relations, Akhtar said Indians have reasons to be angry. He said the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks were still roaming freely in Pakistan despite several complaints by India.

Zanjeer screenwriter’s befitting reply on Pakistan’s terrorism has been lauded in India. Netizens appreciate that finally, someone dared to show a mirror to Pakistan. Even the Pakistani live audience cheered and clapped Akhtar for his remarks on terrorism in Pakistan.

Akhtar was also upset with the neighbouring Country for not hosting any event featuring Indian artists despite India’s welcoming heart towards Pakistani artists.

Akhtar said, “Pakistani artists such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan are celebrated in India, but Pakistan has never hosted a Lata Mangeshkar show. Let us not blame each other. That won’t solve issues. The atmosphere needs to cool down.”

However, Javed’s answer did not go well with some Pakistanis, who started trolling against the statement. As the video of Akhtar’s statement circulated online, Pakistanis asked the writer, “why was he spreading hate at a literature festival?” Netizens also reminded him about “Kulbhushan and Abhinandan” and said they didn’t come from Egypt or Norway to Pakistan.

Our country people have no self-respect- Pakistani on people clapping for Javed’s remark

Pakistanis also called out the audience at Faiz Festival by cheering for Javed Akhtar. Journalist Sumaira Jajja wrote, “Shame on the Pakistanis cheering him, ZERO self-respect. All these platforms give space to people like JA need to introspect. A Pakistani family visiting Mumbai’s Haji Ali dargah slept on the road as no hotel was willing to lodge them”.

Another Pakistani user wrote, “Javed Akhtar Sahab is visiting Pakistan to attend the Faiz Festival & today openly disgraced us, saying that the Mumbai attackers are roaming free. He needs a brain check as the attackers were hanged. Shame on the people who were clapping. Morons, do you have any self-respect”.

Kangana lauded Javed Akhtar

The fiery Indian actress, Kangana Ranaut hailed Javed Akhtar for his comments in Pakistan. She tweeted “Jab main Javed saab ki poetry sunti hoon toh lagta tha yeh kaise Maa Swarsati ji ki in pe itni kripa hai, lekin dekho kuch toh sachchai hoti hai insaan mein tabhi toh khudai hoti hai unke saath mein … Jai Hind @Javedakhtarjadu saab… Ghar mein ghuss ke maara .. ha ha (When I hear his poetry, I’m in awe of his wisdom. And his comments are the proof that he has god’s blessings. ).”

On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists entered India by sea route. They opened fire indiscriminately, killing 166 people, including 18 security personnel, and injuring several others, besides damaging property worth crores.
