Girls’ Generation‘s Sunny, a longstanding member, has announced her departure from SM Entertainment, the agency she has been associated with for 16 years since her debut in 2007. Reports from Soompi reveal that SM Entertainment confirmed the end of their contract with Sunny.

SM Entertainment expressed gratitude to Sunny for her remarkable contributions over the years and wished her success in her new journey. Sunny also took to Instagram to share her thoughts. She expressed gratitude to various individuals, including her fellow members, family, staff, and fans, who have supported her throughout her career.

SM Entertainment:

Sunny specifically acknowledged SM Entertainment for their support in helping her debut as a member of Girls’ Generation when she was 19 years old.  15th debut anniversary:

Girls Generation, consisting of members such as Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun, debuted with Sunny in 2007 with the song Into The New World. The group gained immense popularity with hits like Gee, The Boys, Lion Heart, and Genie. In 2022, they released their seventh full-length album FOREVER 1 to commemorate their 15th debut anniversary.
