Ever since the news broke out that our own dimple queen Deepika Padukone would be one of the jury members at the 75th Cannes film festival, we all were curious to know what she would be wearing for the event. Now, when her look from the red carpet surfaced on the internet, netizens seemed divided on her looks.

Deepika Padukone stunned the red carpet dressed in a retro tiger patterned, blank and gold saree designed by Sabyasachi. She paired it with a black Shimmery strapless blouse. Padukone accessorized it with long golden dangling earrings. She kept her hair tied in a bun and decorated it with golden matha Patti.

However, apart from her outfit and hairstyle, her makeup look remained the talk of the town. The actor opted for a dramatic look with kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips, and contoured cheeks.

Some lauded Deepika for her look, but some were not happy, particularly with her makeup artists. Moreover, she was advised to fire her make-up artist asap.

A user commented, “The eyes look exactly like some Insta or Snapchat filter. Could have been a lot better. This is not working,” noted a social media user. “I love Deepika…I love Sabyasachi…I love Shaleena, BUT I did not like this look at all…I mean… Those eyes…and that headband…and that saree are not good looking at all…really disappointed…,” wrote a fan on Instagram. “A little too inspired by Julia Fox?”

Another commented,” Ugh, why she go nuts in fashion when on the international platform,”

However, this is not the first time any celebrity got trolled for their look on an international platform.

Once a regular visitor to the international film festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went under the radar of fashion critics for her lavender-blue lipstick during the “Sarbjit” premiere at the Cannes film festival 2016 did not go well with Twitterati. Some people asked the actress whether she had jamuns before the festival. Some said that Asian Paints sponsored lipstick.

In 2019, the desi girl was trolled for an entire met gala look. Priyanka Chopra Jonas may have matched the ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ theme at the MET Gala 2019, but the actress’ shimmery avatar with an exaggerated hairdo did not impress social media users who had a field day trolling her for picking the bold look. Sonam Kapoor, a self-proclaimed fashionista, was schooled for her 2015 Cannes outfit. Sonam strutted down the Cannes red carpet in a sorbet-colored feathered Elie Saab gown.

In fact, a Twitter user dropped DIY to create the Sonam Kapoor look.
