We all know that break-ups and link-ups in the Bollywood industry are not new. There were many Bollywood couples who had fans rooting for them to end up together. Unfortunately, these love birds broke up leaving many fans in utter shock. The stars eventually found happiness having an arranged marriage according to the wishes and approval of their parents. Here is a list of Famous Bollywood celebs who opted for arranged marriage after their breakup.
- Karishma Kapoor & Sunjay Kapur:- It was rumoured that Karishma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan were madly in love with each other. In the year 2002, many reports suggested that the duo were planning to tie the knot and got engaged on Big B’s 60th birthday. Unfortunately, the marriage never happened and the engagement was also called off. After that, Karisma married Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur in 2003. The marriage although failed and the couple filed for a divorce with mutual consent in 2014.
- Madhuri Dixit & Dr Shriram Madhav Nene
The dhak-dhak girl was in a talked-about affair with Munna Bhai aka Sanjay Dutt. The actress became a shoulder to lean on when Sanjay Dutt’s wife Richa Sharma was undergoing cancer treatment.
Therefore, Madhuri’s father did not approve of her relationship with a married man and the criminal records against Sanjay were also the reason for his concern. Madhuri eventually got married to Dr Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon from Los Angeles, California. They got married in the year 1999.
- Shahid Kapoor & Mira Rajput
The Bollywood heart-throb Shahid Kapoor and Karena Kapoor were head-over-heels in love with each other. The relationship lasted for 4 years and there were rumours that the couple was planning to get married soon. But they broke up during the shooting of Jab We Met in 2008.

Well, Kareena got into a relationship with Saif Ali Khan and married him, Shahid struggled with few failed relationships. He finally decided to settle down with Delhi-based student Mira Rajput. She was the choice of Shahid’s parents. The couple got married in 2015 and now are blessed with 2 children.

No one can forget the controversies that surrounded Vivek Oberoi when he was dating Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai. His ugly fight with Salman Khan is unforgettable but none of them got the lady love.
In 2010, Vivek tied the knot with Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva. This marriage was arranged by Vivek’s parents. The happy couple is now proud parents of 2 kids.

Neil Nitin Mukesh had publicly proclaimed his fondness for actress Sonal Chauhan. He even said that he wanted to marry her. But Sonal denied any decision of marriage and the relation also did not stand strong on the test of time. Neil then got married to a Mumbai-based girl Rukmini Sahay.
- Govinda & Sunita Ahuja
Govinda had also an arranged marriage. It was his mother’s initiative to find Sunita as Govinda’s partner. Rumour says that this couple was never happy in their married life. Govinda even developed extramarital affairs after marriage.
There was a time when Chi-Chi aka Govinda was madly in love with actress Neelam Kothari. He even wanted to marry her. But Neelam rejected his proposal as she was very ambitious for her career. So, Govinda finally settled down for an arranged marriage with Sunita.
