Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Review: Packed with humour and horror, Kartik -Tabu starrer is complete Entertainer!

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 review: it is not what you were expecting. Kartik Aryan lives up to the expectation!

One of the most awaited films Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is finally here. However, there was a constant comparison between the old and new before the release. Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a blockbuster and Monjulika is still one of the finest  performances of Vidya Balan. So, was Kartik Aryan able to behold the fun and entertainment? Let us find out.

Cast

The film was blessed by an ensemble cast including Kartik Aryan as Ruhan Randhawa, Kiara Advani as Reet Thakur, Rajpal Yadav as Chota Pandit, Tabu as Bhabhi, Amar Upadhyaya as Uday Pathak, Sanjay Mishra as Bada Pandit, Samarth Chauhan as Reet’s brother Potlu and many more.

Storyline

Ruhan is an aimless fun-loving boy who likes to travel a lot. Like flying kites in Gujarat’s Rann Utsav, eating paan in Banaras, and attending Carnival in Manali. On his voyage, he met Reet, going to her native place Rajasthan. After four years of hard studies, she is making a comeback just to settle into an arranged marriage.

However, Ruhan forces Reet to have some fun and takes her to a music festival where only white girls dance (Bollywood’s love with white people). To have little joy in life, they leave their bus. Later, they get the news that the same bus met with an accident and everybody on board died. The report also made Reet’s kin believe that she died too.

To avoid the arranged marriage Reet comes up with a brilliant idea that they will take a shelter in Monjulika’s haunted haveli. From this point, the joy ride begins, which does not stop till the climax.

Honest review

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is not what you are expecting. It is entirely different. Most people were expecting the film as a return of Mounjulika and her Badla and prepared for clichéd jokes, over-the-top acting of Kartik Aryan, and a complete disaster of what Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1 has given to the audience.

However, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 2, directed by Anees Bamzee, is a horror-comedy and not an inch related to Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiya 1. It feeds you with a completely different storyline, plot, and Mounjulika. Only the songs such as Hare Krishna, Hare Ram, Ami Jhe Tumhar, Chota Pandit, and the evil’s name Manjulika have been transported to this sequel.

Before even mentioning Kartik Aryan, Tabu deserves a separate shout-out. She looked gorgeous in the film. Kartik Aryan tied his hand in a different genre which was worth watching. His comic timing was perfect as always, and thank you so much for not giving a male-victim monologue. Kiara did not get much to do in the film apart from hiding from her family.

The storyline is not something you usually see in Bollywood. Moreover, you may get what you were not expecting. However, it contains some fat-shaming jokes on Potlu. More attention could be paid to Mounjulika’s makeup as it was not even horrifying. Black clothes, open-frizzy hair, and a white face. She was giving a 90s Bhootni vibe.

Whether you invest in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2? Oh Yes! You should give it a watch. It will be a fun ride and deserves a four-star rating.
