This week two films have released that you can watch with your BAE to celebrate love. Badhaai DO VS Gehraiyaan – which one you should pick this week.
Well, both the films are entirely different concept so it’s completely your call. Apart from it, Badhaai Do has got a theatrical release whereas Gehraiyaan is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Before you decide which one to pick, take a look at the quick review of both the films.
Gehraiyaan
The much –awaited and much talked film of Deepika Padukone is now finally streaming on Amazon Prime. Film critics and audience is all praise for Deepika Padukone’s stellar performance. The film deals with the issue of infidelity. Deepika’s nuanced performance in the film reminded us of Veronica of Cocktail. As Alisha, she is strong headed, ambitious, yet she goes through her moments of vulnerability and weakness. Talking about other actors, Ananya Pandey too showed her acting chops.
We had a lot of expectations from Siddhant, we felt that his dialogue delivery as romantic hero needs a little more polishing. There were moments where we felt there was a lack of emoting. In the portions, where he showed anger don’t really hit you hard. In a nutshell, it is a chaos that will soothe you.
Directed by Shakun Batra, Gehraiyaan felt like a fresh breath of air because we don’t remember when was the last time when the film title did so much justice to its story. Watch the film for Deepika Padukone as she was truly outdone herself.

Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao, the film deals with a different kind matrimonial compromise – one that is not spoken but has been in existence all long. The film is complete entertainer and bravely deals with a social issue. For those unversed, it is called lavender marriage – which is a hetero marriage between two homosexual people, who agree to this arrangement so that they can live their life with some freedom and can avoid questions on their single status.

Well, Harshvardhan Kulkarni’s film showed complicated arrangement with wit and humour. The topic in the film has been sensitively touched upon. Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkumar Rao delivered powerful performances as both of them are known for choosing unconventional topics. The film sensitively portrays the immense loneliness and sense of isolation that a gay person goes through, especially when they lack a window to communicate openly with their family.
The chartbuster Pretty Si Dulhania is already on the top of our list. To simply put, Badhaai Do attempts to normalize the big screen depiction of gay and lesbian couple and their romantic relationship. The film is a complete entertainer and you can watch it with your family as well your bae! We rate it 3.5 stars.
