Telangana on red alert, to receive heavy rainfall, and hill states are bracing for more downpours across India. IMD predicts continued monsoon chaos, flash floods, and landslides in affected regions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new weather forecast warning of “heavy to very heavy” rainfall across India for the upcoming week. The IMD issuing heavy rainfall warnings has put Telangana on Red Alert among other states. Monsoon has already hit hill states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, causing intense rainfall, cloud bursts, and disruption of normal life. Schools have been temporarily closed, and infrastructure damage has been reported.

Maharashtra and Gujarat are also facing disruptions due to flash floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall over the past week. The IMD predicts that the heavy rainfall and mayhem will continue for some time.

Rain Forecast:

The weather forecast for the next four days indicates various regions that will experience rainfall. In the northwest, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh can expect light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy rainfall in some areas. Himachal Pradesh will also witness continuous rainfall, with chances of isolated very heavy rainfall on specific days.

Central India, including Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, with chances of isolated heavy rainfall in certain pockets.

In West India, Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat will experience rainfall over the next few days.

East India, particularly Odisha, is predicted to have intense rainfall due to a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Bihar can expect scattered to fairly widespread rainfall.

South India will witness widespread rainfall in several regions, including Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south interior Karnataka, and Kerala. Telangana will experience isolated extremely heavy rainfall.

The Northeast, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, will experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on specific days.
