Smriti Irani Accused Rahul Gandhi of Manipur Unrest; Union Minister’s Speech in Parliament Sparks Controversy!

In a recent session of Parliament, heated debate sparked as Union Minister Smriti Irani Accused Rahul Gandhi of Manipur Unrest. The accusation came after Congress MP Amee Yajnik questioned whether women ministers would address the issues in Manipur. Smriti Irani fiercely defended her colleagues and rebuffed the criticism by demanding accountability on other pressing matters, such as incidents in Chhattisgarh and Bihar.

The exchange in the Rajya Sabha gained significant attention, with a video of Smriti Irani’s passionate speech quickly going viral. In the midst of her address, she mentioned Rahul Gandhi’s name, drawing reactions from her peers, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. However, Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, without naming Smriti Irani, described the incident as a “meltdown” and pointed to a “toxic obsession.”

The tension escalated further when Congress leader Supriya Shrinate accused Smriti Irani of “theatrics” and argued that her impassioned display would not revive a dead conscience. Shrinate listed several issues where she claimed Irani remained silent, questioning her commitment to the welfare of women and athletes.

Taking the confrontation to Twitter, Smriti Irani targeted Rahul Gandhi’s past controversial statement about the Muslim League being a secular party. She condemned what she perceived as a threat to Hindus and accused Rahul Gandhi of endorsing a divisive brand of secularism. This came after members of the Muslim Youth League in Kerala were booked for making provocative statements during a rally for Manipur.

The exchange between the politicians highlights the intensity of political debates and the differing viewpoints on pressing national issues. As the nation looks on, it remains to be seen how this fiery discourse will shape future discussions in Parliament and the broader political landscape.
