Personal friendships over politics: Nitish Kumar’s heartfelt message amid support and clarification from the RJD.
Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, recently made a heartfelt statement about his enduring personal friendships with BJP leaders, irrespective of political differences. During an event in Motihari, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, he said, “Chhodiye na bhai (leave these things). Yes, we are on one side, and you are on the other, but our friendship will remain intact, and will continue till I am alive.”

RJD Clarifies Nitish’s Remark
Nitish Kumar’s political ally, the RJD, downplayed his comments, clarifying that he was referring to his relationships, not party affiliations. According to RJD’s Shakti Yadav, “Radha Mohan Singh (of BJP) was sitting in front, so he spoke about his relationship. There is no mention of any party. People interpreted him incorrectly.”

It’s worth noting that Nitish Kumar played a pivotal role in uniting opposition parties to challenge the Narendra Modi government in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. This effort eventually led to the formation of a coalition of opposition parties named “INDIA.”
