Congress Said Same Before 2014: Anurag Thakur on Mallikarjun Kharge’s Assertions!

Anurag Thakur replied to statements made by the Congress party by drawing comparisons between their current assertions and earlier ones. Thakur pointed out that the Congress had previously made similar claims, but that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had won strongly in the elections.

Anurag Thakur, a Union minister, responded to the  Mallikarjun Kharge’s‘ assertions by emphasizing PM Modi’s electoral victory over the opposition’s claims.

On Tuesday, on the occasion of Independence Day, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was seen missing from the flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort. Congress gave the reason as some problem with his eyes and due to the flag hoisting at the Congress headquarters and residence, Kharge could not spare time for the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. The photo of Kharge’s empty chair during the ceremony at the Red Fort has become viral on social media.

On the same occasion, Kharge’s recorded message was also played after hoisting the flag at the Congress headquarters. In it, he lashed out at PM Modi, and said that at present, there has been a threat to all three- democracy, constitution and institutions. He also said in one of his messages on Independence Day that the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (I.N.D.I.A.) will stand against injustice and win.

The Congress chief added that the speech of PM Modi states that all the development works have been started by the BJP government only and before that nothing had happened in the country. He said that the voice of the opposition is being suppressed in the BJP rule and the mic of the opposition leaders are being switched off. Kharge also spoke about how his mic was switched off .

In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set the tone for “next August 15” by saying that he would highlight his administration’s accomplishments in case the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a comeback following the 2024 general elections. Mallikarjun Kharge, the head of the Congress, responded to the prime minister’s assertion by saying, “He (the pm) will hoist the National Flag once again next year, he will do that at his home.”

However, Union Minister Anurag Thakur  recalled the Congress’ past assertions, which were identical to Kharge’s remarks.’ Congress had already stated the same thing, but we won the election by a landslide. They claimed the same things before 2019, but PM Modi returned with a solid majority.’ He informed the press that PM Modi does not win votes depending on what the Congress claims.
