India Rebukes Pakistan’s Absurd Theatrics On Terrorism At UNGA
India slams Pakistan at UNGA, calling out PM Sharif’s theatrics, glorification of terrorism, and false claims against New Delhi.
India Strongly Rebukes Pakistan For Glorifying Terrorism At UNGA With Distorted Narratives And False Allegations
India has strongly condemned Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address, in which he accused India of aggression and glorified terrorism. Exercising India’s right of reply, Indian diplomat Petal Gahlot called Sharif’s remarks an “absurd display of theatrics” and accused Islamabad of once again spreading falsehoods on the global platform. She highlighted that Pakistan continues to glorify terrorism as a tool of foreign policy while attempting to shift blame through distorted narratives.
Gahlot reminded the international community that Pakistan had blocked accountability for a Pakistan-sponsored terror group behind the April 2025 attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed tourists. She also recalled Pakistan’s well-documented history of sheltering global terrorists. Referring to Osama bin Laden’s decade-long safe haven in Pakistan, she noted that Islamabad pretended to partner in the global war on terror while secretly running terror camps. This duplicity, she said, continues even today, and its manifestation at the level of the Prime Minister is deeply concerning.
Highlighting India’s decisive counter-terror operations, Gahlot pointed to Operation Sindoor, which targeted major terror complexes in Bahawalpur and Muridke. She noted that photographs of slain terrorists served as undeniable proof of India’s action against networks thriving under Pakistan’s protection. Drawing attention to the fact that senior Pakistani officials often glorify these figures, she questioned whether any doubt remained about the regime’s dangerous inclinations.

Responding to Sharif’s claims about recent military exchanges, Gahlot described his narrative as “bizarre.” She explained that while Pakistan issued threats of escalation until May 9, by May 10 its military had pleaded with India for a ceasefire. The turnaround followed devastating strikes by Indian forces that crippled multiple Pakistani airbases. Publicly available images of destroyed runways and burnt-out hangars, she said, contradict Sharif’s so-called victory claims.
India also held Pakistan responsible for terrorist attacks against innocent civilians, reiterating its right to defend its citizens. Gahlot stressed that if Pakistan truly seeks peace, it must shut down terror camps and hand over wanted terrorists to India instead of sheltering them. She emphasized that there could be no distinction between terrorists and their sponsors, warning that both would be held accountable. India, she said, would not tolerate terrorism disguised under nuclear threats or diplomatic theatrics.
Sharif, on the other hand, used his UNGA speech to accuse India of violating international law, particularly citing the Pahalgam incident and subsequent Indian countermeasures. He claimed, without evidence, that the Pakistani Air Force had destroyed seven Indian fighter jets. Gahlot dismissed such statements as part of Pakistan’s long-standing practice of distorting facts for political gain.

The Pakistani Prime Minister also raised the issue of the Indus Water Treaty, accusing India of unilaterally suspending it. He declared that any violation of the treaty was equivalent to an act of war. India, however, clarified that it suspended cooperation under the treaty only as a countermeasure to Pakistan’s persistent cross-border terrorism and the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Concluding her reply, Gahlot reaffirmed India’s position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan must be resolved bilaterally, with no role for third parties. She issued a stern message on terrorism, declaring zero tolerance for its use in any form and rejecting attempts to exploit humanitarian platforms for propaganda. India’s stand at the UNGA sends a powerful message: it will continue to expose Pakistan’s duplicity and hold it accountable for sponsoring terrorism while calling for global unity against such threats.
