 IMD weather report: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather forecast indicating the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the country on October 17th and 18th. This report serves as a guide to help you prepare for the upcoming weather conditions.

Delhi-NCR:

Delhi-NCR is likely to experience a generally cloudy sky on Tuesday, with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers. Gusty winds and rain made Monday’s weather pleasant, bringing the temperature down to 30.5 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below the season’s average. Areas like Noida, Indirapuram, and parts of Delhi experienced rain along with thunder and lightning. Mahesh Palawat from Skymet Weather mentioned the possibility of heavy thunder, rain, and even hail storms moving across Delhi-NCR. This weather phenomenon has already reduced the maximum temperature by 5 degrees.

Air Quality:

Although the air quality index (AQI) was at 195 in the morning, it deteriorated to a poor category (207) by 4 p.m.

Northwest India:

The IMD bulletin states that until October 17th, Northwest India will experience mild to moderate rainfall in various areas, along with sporadic thunderstorms and lightning in remote regions.

Other Regions:

Regions including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Kerala, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and north Rajasthan will see light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning on October 17th, with a reduction in rainfall thereafter.

East India:

In East India, the IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall at many places, with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on October 17th and 18th.
