The Delhi Metro achieved a historic milestone by recording an unprecedented 68.16 lakh passenger journeys in a single day on August 28. This breaks the previous record of 66,18,717 journeys on February 10, 2020, before the pandemic disrupted travel patterns. The increase is attributed to the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, which typically sees a ridership surge. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) hailed this achievement as a testament to the trust and resilience of Delhi-NCR citizens in their world-class transportation system.
