Delhi Court Grants Bail To Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi & Tejashwi Yadav In Alleged Job Scam

In an alleged land-for-job corruption case, a Delhi court grants bail to former CM Lalu Yadav, his family, and other people. On September 22, the Yadav family and 14 other victims of the alleged scheme received summonses from the court.

On Wednesday, A Delhi Court granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and former Bihar CM, Rabri Devi, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and others in the alleged land-for-job scam case. Special CBI Judge Geetanjali Goel passed this order.

The court set the subject for the next hearing on October 16 and granted bail to one of the state’s most renowned political families on a personal bond of $50,000.The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been directed by the court to give copies of the chargesheet to the defendants.

The case involves suspected railway appointments arranged in exchange for land allegedly given to Lalu Prasad’s family while he served as the Union railway minister from 2004 to 2009.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claims that the hiring standards and policies established by the Indian railways were not followed by the appointments made in the railroads.

On September 22, the Yadav family and 14 other victims of the alleged scheme received summonses from the court.All of the accused were asked to appear in person before Special Judge Goel after she took note of the new charge sheet submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on July 3.

This is the second chargesheet filed against Lalu and his family in the case where Lalu is suspected of receiving property in exchange for offering jobs to individuals. 

Furthermore, Tejashwi Yadav is listed as an accused for the first time in the case’s chargesheet.

The Union Home Ministry had already approved the CBI’s request for four prosecution penalties against Lalu and three former Indian Railways officers. The authorization to prosecute was previously granted, while the authorization for the former railway officials was just recently granted.

The new chargesheet mentions railway zones that were not listed in the last chargesheet, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

In May of last year, the CBI charged Lalu and his family in a new corruption case. In the FIR, the agency implicated as many as 17 individuals, including Lalu, Tejashwi, Rabri Devi, his daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, as well as those who benefited from the entire process.
