Delhi Ashram Director Accused: 17 Female Students Molested, Verbally Abused by Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati

The recent allegations against the director of a prominent Delhi Ashram have sent shockwaves across the city. Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, formerly known as Swami Parthasarathy, who led the Sri Sharadha Institute of Indian Management-Research, is accused by 17 female students of sexual harassment and verbal abuse. The students, enrolled in management diploma courses under EWS scholarships, have lodged serious complaints with the authorities, prompting immediate police action.

According to Delhi Police, a case has been registered at Vasant Kunj North Police Station following statements from the students. The accusations describe a pattern of misconduct by the director, ranging from inappropriate physical contact to forcing students to watch obscene material. The gravity of the allegations has raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of female students in educational institutions operating under ashram authorities.

Sources revealed that Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati allegedly owns a luxury car with a fake number plate bearing a UN number. The vehicle has since been impounded by the police, and investigations have confirmed that no such number plate has ever been issued. Authorities are also tracing his movements to ensure that he is apprehended promptly, as the accused remains at large.

The initial complaint was registered by PA Murli, the administrator of Sri Sringeri Math, after a PGDM student reported being sexually harassed by the director. In response, the ashram issued a statement clarifying that Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati’s actions were illegal and inappropriate. The Peeth has officially severed all ties with him and has lodged complaints with relevant authorities regarding the alleged illegal acts.

During the ongoing investigation, Delhi Police recorded statements from 32 female students. Out of these, 17 students accused the swami of verbal abuse, unwarranted physical contact, and exposing them to obscene videos. Disturbingly, the students also alleged that certain women faculty members pressured them to comply with the director’s demands, adding another layer of concern regarding institutional oversight.

Delhi Police have seized CCTV footage and other digital devices, including hard disks and network video recorders (NVRs), for forensic testing. These pieces of evidence are crucial to corroborate the allegations and bring the accused to justice. Multiple police teams are currently involved in tracing the swami’s location to ensure his swift arrest.

This case is not the first instance of legal trouble for Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati. Reports indicate that two criminal cases were previously registered against him. In 2009, a case of fraud and molestation was filed in Delhi’s Defence Colony, and in 2016, another molestation case was registered in Vasant Kunj. These prior allegations highlight a concerning pattern of misconduct and raise questions about monitoring and accountability in educational and spiritual institutions.

Authorities have emphasized that the safety and dignity of students remain their top priority. The Delhi Police are taking the allegations seriously and have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted. As the search for the accused continues, parents, students, and the public are closely following developments in this high-profile case.

The unfolding Delhi Ashram scandal, with 17 female students coming forward to report harassment, serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stringent safety measures in educational institutions, particularly those operating under religious or spiritual affiliations. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to cooperate with the investigation to ensure justice is served.
