Rama Navami is a Hindu festival which is observed to celebrate the birth of Lord Rama, the avatar of Lord Vishnu in the seventh incarnation. He is thought of as the best king and human being because of his justice, good behavior, and good qualities.
Rama Navami is a festival that helps re-strengthen faith and bring about an understanding of the lawfulness of the moral path. Ram Navmi is not just a birth celebration of Lord Ram but also for the ideals he stands for.
Ram Navami 2024 marks the conclusion of the nine days of Navratri fasting, and also symbolizes the ultimate victory of knowledge (namely, the science of spiritual practices and the self) over ignorance and delusion (which represent the various instinctive actions of the inner self). In this period, people worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga and ask for the health and prosperity of their relatives and friends. Devotees perform Kanya puja and give prasad and gifts to girls and ask their blessings.
Rama Navami is observed on the Shukla Paksha, which is the 9th day in the first month, Chaitra, of the Hindu calendar. It marks the start of the new year and it usually takes place roughly during the first part of March or April every year. This year it will be celebrated on the 17th of April.
It is the most respected festival by the devotees of Lord Ram who rejoice and celebrate their god’s birth anniversary. Devotees believe that Dasharatha, the King of Ayodhya, as well as its historical city in Uttar Pradesh, had his prayers granted on this day.

People also observe fast during this day. They avoid eating tamasic foods which are unfit for human consumption, e.g., alcohol, non-veg meals and onions and garlic. Devotees who are on fast make aloo curry from tomatoes, yogurt and enjoy with puri, Halwa.
This Ram Navami 2024 holds a special value because it’s the very first one after the swearing in ceremony in and around Ayodhya where centennial celebrations were held last year. It is the day, where the appearance of Lord Rama will be the main attraction, and hence a great beginning at the temple. Devotees all around the country will celebrate it with much more devotion and love.
