Ayushmann Khurrana’s anticipated film Thama is set to bring an extra dash of glitz and glamour to this year’s festive season, thanks to the inclusion of two powerhouse performers: Nora Fatehi and Malaika Arora. Adding their signature dance moves to the film, both actresses are poised to deliver show-stealing performances that early buzz indicates will become the highlight of the Diwali season.

Thama, the latest installment of Maddock Films’ supernatural-inspired universe, was confirmed on October 30, 2024, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna as leads, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and backed by producers Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film combines light horror elements with a romantic-comedy backbone. Filming began in December 2024 and wrapped up in May 2025, with only the song sequences left to complete at that point. The theatrical release is scheduled for October 17, 2025.

Reports suggest that Malaika’s dance sequence was shot several months ago and is embedded in a critical juncture of the storyline. On the other hand, Nora Fatehi recently completed filming a high-voltage promotional track designed to stoke excitement in the climax of the film.

This marks a reunion of sorts: Ayushmann earlier collaborated with both stars in An Action Hero—Malaika appeared in a stylish rendition of “Aap Jaisa Koi,” while Nora dazzled with her performance in “Jehda Nasha.” Their dance catalogues are already legendary—Malaika’s iconic numbers include “Chaiyya Chaiyya” and “Munni Badnaam Hui,” while Nora has rocked tracks like “Dilbar” and “O Saki Saki.”

Malaika Arora, known for her grace and stage presence, has had a prolific career as an actress, model, and dancer, with memorable choreographed numbers going back to the 1990s.
