Deepika Padukone Joins Atlee-Allu Arjun Film After Exiting Spirit, Kalki

Deepika Padukone has officially started working with director Atlee and Telugu star Allu Arjun in their new movie called AA22xA6. This after she confirmed she won’t be part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit with Prabhas and there are still unanswered questions about her role in Kalki 2.

With her involvement in Atlee and Allu Arjun’s project, Deepika Padukone is beginning her professional duties since welcoming her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, in September 2024. Sun Pictures announced the news on social media through an exciting video clip that showed Atlee reading the script to a dedicated Deepika Padukone, who gave a positive reply by simply shaking hands. This illustration depicts the Queen going forward with her campaign to win. In these lines, the audience gets the hint that the actress has a prominent position.

Through this new film, Deepika will be collaborating once again with Atlee after appearing in Shah Rukh Khan’s hit film Jawan. Atlee talked about how Deepika mam has depth, power, and elegance in everything she creates. Her performance in every scene made the film even more impressive. The fact that both her and Allu Arjun are together in one film is what filmmakers wish for. Leading characters in AA22xA6 are under defense, but critics expect the film to have sci-fi action with Deepika taking on an action heroine role. Supposedly, Allu Arjun will be seen performing the same role in two contradictory ways in different universes.

After leaving Spirit, Deepika has made the decision to be part of AA22xA6. Various news reports point out that the reason she left the film was disagreements in the contract, most notably over her payment, a share of profits, and her seemed reluctance to speak Telugu.

The industry also reacted to a prefilm request for an unyielding 8 hour day, which became a hot button issue. Work/life balance became a contentious topic within the industry, especially for new mothers. Then Triptii Dimri took over for Deepika in Spirit.

To add to the collective intrigue and speculation, there have been conflicting updates regarding Deepika’s participation in Nag Ashwin’s sequel, Kalki 2, following some initial rumors that suggested she was dropped or had her role reduced either because of adding similar demands to the character or that she had friction with co-star Prabhas. Sources close to Kalki 2 adamantly deny alleged accounts that left Deepika out of Kalki 2.

They say Deepika is included in Kalki 2 and there are no scenarios regarding Deepika’s removal. Insiders have alleged that it’s fully understood that the film is still in early planning; shooting hasn’t begun meaning there is no resolution to any alleged on set conflict or alleged conflict over hours worked on set. Last year, Nag Ashwin stated that Deepika is a primary character in the storyline. In its simplest form, he said they need Deepika Padukone in Kalki 2.

With Singham Again set for release in November 2024, the confirmation of AA22xA6, and Deepika Padukone’s release calendar looking strong, her decision making process to assess her capabilities post baby and her experience amoungst her peers is being scrutinized as she look to direct the perception of her capabilities to work with a reduced timeframe.
