Security Forces Launch Retaliatory Strike, Demolish Terror Safehouses Across Kashmir

After Pahalgam Carnage, India Hits Back with Force and Resolve

The homes of five terrorists including a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander were demolished throughout Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night just days after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. As the security forces have stepped up their crackdown on LeT operatives and suspects connected to the deadly attack, officials say the most recent actions were carried out in the districts of Shopian Kulgam and Pulwama.

Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander’s House Destroyed in Shopian

The residence of LeT commander Shahid Ahmed Kutte was destroyed and reduced to rubble in the village of Choti Pora in Shopian. According to authorities Kutte has been involved in terror-related activities for the previous three to four years and is alleged to have been instrumental in organizing anti-national operations.

Terrorist Zahid Ahmed’s Home Demolished in Kulgam

In the Matalam neighborhood of Kulgam another terrorist’s home, that of Zahid Ahmed was destroyed.

Pulwama: Explosions Destroy Multiple Homes

Meanwhile an explosion destroyed the home of terrorist Ahsan Ul Haq in the Murran neighborhood of Pulwama. After receiving terror training in Pakistan in 2018 Ahsan recently returned to the Valley which alarmed intelligence services.

Another two-story residence belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Ehsan Ahmad Sheikh who has been active since June 2023 was demolished.

In the Kachipora neighborhood of Pulwama the home of the fifth terrorist Haris Ahmad who has also been active since 2023 was destroyed by an explosion.

Crackdown Continues on Pahalgam Attack Perpetrators

A case against all terrorists has been filed according to sources.

Adil Hussain Thoker and Asif Sheikh, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack had their homes destroyed in separate explosions on Thursday night. Some explosives were reportedly stored inside their homes according to sources.

Drawings of Thoker and two other terrorists suspected of being involved in the Pahalgam attack were made public by the Anantnag Police on Thursday. Officials declared a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the two other suspects Hashim Musa also known as Suleman and Ali Bhai also known as Talha Bhai who were Pakistani nationals.

Pahalgam Attack: One of the Deadliest Since Pulwama

Several terrorists descended on Baisaran Valley also known as Mini Switzerland – a popular tourist destination with undulating hills and lush orchards – and opened fire on Tuesday killing 26 people including one Nepali national and injuring numerous others. According to the witnesses the tourists fled for safety as the gunshots rang out. But the vast open area did not provide them with a hiding place.

Massive Security Operation Launched

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police have cordoned off the area as part of a massive hunt to find the terrorists.

India Responds to Terror with Diplomatic and Strategic Measures

In response to the deadly attack India cited sustained cross-border terrorism by Pakistan as justification for suspending the Indus Water Treaty. All of the terrorists and their backers responsible for the Pahalgam attack will be identified, tracked and punished according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge.

The Army Chief Assesses the Jammu and Kashmir Security Situation

In his first visit to the Union territory since the Pahalgam attack, Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi examined the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The formation’s efforts to combat terrorists within their own borders and the Pakistan Army’s efforts to breach the ceasefire along the Line of Control were also discussed with him.

Pakistan Ceasefire Violations Escalate

Pakistan’s ceasefire violations have increased since the terror attack to which Indian forces have responded appropriately.

On the intervening night of April 25 and 26 several Pakistan Army posts fired, causing Indian troops to retaliate with small arms, the officials said. There have been no reported casualties.
