Sita Navami 2024 (Sanskrit: सीता नवमी) is a Hindu festival commemorating the appearance of the goddess Sita, one of the most prominent deities in Hinduism.
Sit Navam 2024, commonly known as Sita Jayanti or Janaki Navami, is the birthday or the appearance day of Goddess Sita, the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and the consort of Lord Rama. Goddess Sita was born on the Earth and was found by King Janaki who saved her and took care of her as though she was his own child.

Sita Navami or Sita Jayanti, as we term it, implies the Shukla Paksha(waxing phase of the moon) and Navami(9th day in the lunar month of Vaishaka) based on the Hindu calendar. Sita Jayanti/Sitha Navami is currently regarded by many married women, who keep the fast on this day for the longevity of their partner. The Sita Navami this year will be celebrated on May 16, 2024.

Sita Navami or Sita Jainanti is regarded as a big and fabled festival in River Sarayu. It also runs with the huge excitement and earnestness in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama in Uttar Pradesh, Bhadrachalam in Andhra Pradesh, Sita Samahita Sthal in Bihar, and Rameswaram in Tamil Nad Sita Darshan, Aarti as well as Maha-Abhishek are the major rituals of Sita Navami which aim at a good vibration of Goddess Sita on the earth. The devotees take part in a big procession to worship the Goddess Sita, Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman and Lakshmana and read the Ramayana sitting in groups at the Lord Rama temples. The bhajan, kirtan and aarti are the main points of spiritually Held festival Sita Navami or Sita Jayanti.
Astrological Significance
It is believed that Goddess Sita came from Pushya Nakshatra on Tuesday whereas Lord Rama joined the world in Navami Tithi. Sita too got married to Lord Rama during the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. The interval of a month after Sita was Navami or Sita Jayanti follows Hindu calendar.
