The country of Pakistan lost its United Nations Human Rights Council seat. The country was expecting to be re-elected as its term will expire at the end of this year.
Pakistan could gather only 105 votes out of 193 in the General Assembly. The UNHRC has terms for three years and only 47 members are elected in total from each regional group. Pakistan lost its seat in the Asia- pacific region which had 5 vacant seats.
