Vengsarkar said that his main spotlight would be to revitalise the outdated NCA and put the academy back on the tracks.

According to the view of Vengsarkar,”From the last four to five years, it is as fine as outdated. And it had no direction. So I have to aim on the reforming and make sure that Indian cricket can get good cricketers and we can have a good counter strength.

Vengsarkar will replace Brijesh Patel, who supposedly had to step down from his place after BCCI president; Shashank Manohar introduced the conflict-of-interest rule.
