Recently Nepal has adopted secular constitution and announced cow to be the country’s national animal.
General Secretary of Nepali congress, Krishna Prasad Sitaula said “We have made cow our national animal. Now, the animal has constitutional protection and cow slaughter has also been banned”.
Cows are notably considered sacred among the Hindu society.
