Kuldeep Yadav Slaps Rinku Singh Twice After DC vs KKR Clash; Fans Question If It’s Bromance or Unacceptable Behaviour
This incident slapped everyone like a surprise when it turned out from a very friendly-looking moment between Indian players Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh to a controversy. A video went viral after Delhi Capitals (DC) lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) narrowly by 14 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, featuring Kuldeep slapping Rinku not once but twice. Thus, considering all aspects of the video, the video sparked a debate on social media, splitting fans from cuddle to crossing the line.
It was the first slap – this was cast while Rinku Singh was cackling and otherwise presenting a relaxed appearance – which had leave fans wondering. Kuldeep, who had once shared the KKR dressing room with Rinku, seemed irritated as he struck the batter unexpectedly. Apparently, once was not enough, as Kuldeep slapped Rinku after a mild exchange of words-before this time eliciting a perhaps justifiably angry reaction from Rinku. The moment, caught under camera lens, draws comparisons to the infamous ‘slapgate’ of IPL 2008 when Harbhajan Singh hit S Sreesanth, creating a furore and resulting in an 11-match obscured exposure from the game.

In the current case, most media observers are giving both players and BCCI the benefit of the doubt, while public opinion is sharply divided. To some of those fans, it is just a mere exhibition of intimacy known as “bromance” between these 2 cricketers. But others claim that physical aggression even when in fun is not a good example. It should not be so, especially on the TV platform which is the IPL.
Rinku Singh played an important role for KKR to post a solid total on the board with his runs being 36 on 25 balls. His runs laid the great base for what eventually became a hefty 204/9 total for KKR, along with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, top-scoring with 44 off 32. Meanwhile, the outing was disappointing for Kuldeep, who got 27 runs off 3 overs, failed to capture a wicket.
The matched-bottom side resided within position of 4 on points table after losing the fourth match in this tournament, and KKR consolidated, at least critically, on their seventh place after this win.
When the tournament thickens, these off-field happenings tend to cause as much excitement as the happenings on field. Whether in jest or some irritation, it left the speculation that the cricketing fraternity now awaits clarity in possible action from the BCCI.
