India crowned the first-ever ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Champions after beating England

ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup:- The Shafali Verma-led India hit up the runs for the loss of just three wickets to put up a terrific display in the finals against England and emerged as the first ever victors at the T20 Women’s U19 World Cup on Sunday. India became the first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup winners on Sunday after beating England by seven wickets in the final, in Potchefstroom, South Africa, on Sunday.

India lost Shweta Sehrawat (5) and Verma (15) early, but Gongadi Trisha (24) and Soumya Tiwari (24 not out) steadied the innings and guided the team in 14 overs. The women’s Indian cricket team has never won a World Cup at any level. However, the seniors reached the finals of the World Cup on 3 occasions across formats but failed to go the distance. PM Modi also congratulated the Team India on this win.

“Congratulations to the Indian Team for a special win at the @ICC #U19T20WorldCup. They have played excellent cricket and their success will inspire several upcoming cricketers. Best wishes to the team for their future endeavors,” said Prime Minster Narendra Modi.

Bollywood Celebs Congratulated women in blue U-19 on world cup win

Multiple Bollywood celebs took to their social media accounts and congratulated the Indian Team after they captured the first-ever ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup in the finals by defeating England.

From actor Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol to Ananya Panday, Rakul Preet Singh, Shraddha Kapoor shared a picture of the team on their Instagram story and congratulated them on winning the U-19 World cup.
