Beti Bachao Scheme was launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in January 2015. Now this scheme will involve women as workers to improve the child sex ratio in the 100 gender critical districts of the country.
One of the projects, Pilot project in Pali district of Rajasthan in 2011 was successful, where women volunteers played the key role in improving child sex ratio etc. Therefore, Union Government has decided to include women in Beti Bachao Scheme also.
Two women worker from the community will be appointed and trained to work at Gram Panchayat level in villages. According to officials implementing this scheme in 100 districts with least child sex ratio will promote the institutional birth and universal enrolment of girls.
