According to a report, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has recently said that to stay safe, one should not take VIP security cover.
During a function at Panaji that was organized by the Goa unit of the Bhartiya Janta Party to celebrate the 60th birthday of the former Goa chief minister.
He further added that he often pleads with policemen guarding him to keep distance from him. But he tells them to stick them to their jobs because “if someone attacks the defence minister, it becomes international news.”
He says one doesn’t need security cover to stay safe.
