Thiruvananthapuram: Former CM Achuthanandam elected as the ARC chairman

According to a report, the former Chief Minister of Kerala Achuthanandam has been elected as the chairman of ARC ( Administrative Reforms Commission) with cabinet rank.

Notably, the much – awaited decision was taken at a cabinet meeting , which was chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

An official release said that apart from Achuthanandam , 90 – year –old the newly set – up commission would also have former chief secretaries CP Nair and Neela Gangadharan as members.

The commission has been set up to improve the administrative efficiency. The opposition congress has criticized the move and said it would further burden the state’s consolidated funds.
