The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the sale of diesel cars and SUVs with engine capacity of 2000 cc in Delhi and NCR.
The court has also asked the Central pollution Control Board to open an account in public sector bank to receive levy from the big diesel cars.

Notably, the court will also decide whether the rate of green levy on big diesel cars be more than 1 percent of ex- showroom cost of the vehicle.
The decision came when SC was hearing the plea of luxury car maker Mercedes – Benz , who offered to pay 1 percent environment cess in a bid to overcome the ban from the vehicles.
