According to reports, the centre is all set to make changes to three laws to ensure that the President, Vice President and governors get a pay hike and do not earn less than senior civil servants.

As per the report in a leading daily, under the new pay scales cleared by the government for civil servants , cabinet secretary will get a monthly salary of 2.5 Lakh ,a secretary to the government will get Rs.2.25 Lakh and an additional secretary more than 1.82 Lakh.
The proposal of amendment could reach the Union Cabinet as early as next week as per the report. Notably, the change is important as currently salary of the President falls below that 14 officials government.
