Modi asks BJP workers: Conduct ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on bikes in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to his party workers in Telangana, on Sunday to carry out the much talked about “Tiranga Yatra” on bikes starting from August 15 to September 17 across the state.

The BJP government in Telangana has been demanding to further hold an official celebration of the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ on September 17, the day on which the erstwhile Nizam’s state had been merged with the Indian Union. The Hyderabad State under the Nizam rule was merged with the Indian Union on September 17, 1948 which was followed by a ‘police action’.

PM said to his party workers at LB stadium in Hyderabad, that 17 September is not Modi’s birthday, and Sardar Patel got you freedom. So, carry out ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in all the parts of the state. He also mentioned that, across the country this yatra will be conducted, but in Telangana he asked them to take out the yatra on Bikes.

The PM has also announced to launch the mega 15-day BJP campaign, and the slogan would be ’70 saal azadi-yaad karo kurbani’ on August 9, the 75th year of the Quit India movement, and virtually during this time the entire Council of Ministers will be traveling across the country to “rekindle the spirit of patriotism”.
